Froschbeiniger Blattkäfer

Alle 50 Arten der Sagra Gattung haben einen schönen metallischen Glanz und auffällig verdickte Hinterschenkel, die allerdings nicht zum springen geeignet sind. Dieser Blattkäfer lebt in Stengeln verholzter Pflanzen und richten dort oft beträchtlichen Schaden an. Man findet ihn in Afrika, Madagaskar, Indien und China bis zur ostasiatischen Inselwelt.

 

All 50 types of the generic group of Sagra catches your eye because of the metallic appearance and thickened hind legs which are not suitable for jumping. These leaf beetles live in lignified plants and often cause considerable damage. They are to be found in Africa, Madagascar, India and China up to East Asian islands.
