Morpho portis

Ähnlich wie „Morpho sulkowskyi” schimmert dieser schöne Schmetterling perlmuttfarben. Wie bei allen Morpho Schmetterlingen changiert die metallisch glänzende Oberfläche der Flügel von Hell- bis Dunkelblau, je nachdem aus welchem Winkel man sie betrachtet. „Morpho portis thamyris” ist in Paraguay und Brasilien beheimatet.

 

Einige Falter der Gattung Morphidae werden ohne Abdomen geliefert. Sie werden z.T. vorsorglich entfernt, da diese eine ölige Substanz absondern, die das Präparat verschmutzen könnte.

Similar to ”Morpho sulkowskyi ”this beautiful butterfly gleams like pearl. Like all Morpho butterflies the surface of their metallically shining wings appears in shades of light blue to dark blue depending from which angle you look at it. ”Morpho portis thamyris ”is located to Paraguay and Brasil.

 

Some Morpho butterflies are offered with the abdomen removed to prevent its oily contents from staining the wings.
